Terms of Service
Last updated: July 21, 2026
By using Yubikiri ("the Service") at yubikiri.art, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Yubikiri is
Yubikiri is a shared commission workspace. It helps artists and clients manage briefs, milestones, revisions, deadlines, file delivery, and activity records. Optional Stripe Checkout (including staged milestone payments and room add-ons) is available when an artist connects Stripe; payouts go directly to the artist and Yubikiri never takes custody of the money. Otherwise, payment is arranged outside the Service. Yubikiri is not a marketplace that buys or resells art, not buyer protection, and not a party to your commission contract.
2. Two layers of terms
- These Terms govern your use of the Yubikiri platform (accounts, rooms, features, and our relationship with you).
- Artist terms(the text an artist freezes into a room when the client acknowledges them) govern that commission between artist and client — pricing, revisions, deadlines, usage rights, and similar deal terms. Yubikiri hosts the snapshot and activity record; it does not write, guarantee, or enforce the artist's deal, does not act as your lawyer, and does not take custody of the payment.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction (and at least 13, or older where required for digital services).
4. Artist and client responsibilities
- Artists are responsible for their own terms, pricing, delivery, and quality of work.
- Clients are responsible for providing clear briefs and timely feedback within agreed revision limits.
- Artists and clients are responsible for their payment arrangements, whether they use optional Stripe Checkout or arrange payment outside the Service.
- Snapshot acknowledgments and activity logs are tools for clarity — they do not replace legal advice or local consumer protections.
5. Payments, fees, and refunds
No separate Yubikiri refund policy for commissions. When Stripe Checkout is used, the artist (via Stripe Connect) is the seller of that charge. Money is paid to the artist's Stripe account. Yubikiri never takes custody of commission funds, keeps no balance, does not redistribute payments, and does not issue refunds for milestone payments, change-order balances, rush fees, extra revisions, or other room charges.
- Questions about a commission payment, cancelation, or refund belong first with the artist under that room's artist terms, and with Stripe's processes where applicable.
- Payments arranged outside Yubikiri are entirely between artist and client; Yubikiri cannot reverse them.
- Any platform application fee Yubikiri collects on a successful Stripe charge (if enabled) is a fee for facilitating Checkout on the Service, not a purchase of artwork. It is not refundable except where required by law or where we choose to reverse a charge in our sole discretion (for example obvious duplicate processing errors).
- Chargebacks and payment disputes are handled through Stripe and the card networks; we may share limited room metadata needed to respond.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload illegal content or content you do not have rights to share
- Harass, scam, or impersonate others
- Attempt to break, scrape abusively, or reverse engineer the Service
- Use the Service to launder, spam, or distribute malware
Human-made artwork policy
Yubikiri does not allow generative AI artwork to be sold or delivered through the Service. Artists may not deliver generative image output or pass AI-generated or generative-AI-assisted artwork off as human-made. Ordinary non-generative workflow tools such as file organization, color management, image resizing, and spellcheck are not prohibited by this rule.
Artists must sign the human-made pledge to create or update a public profile. Users may submit private reports, which we review before making a moderation decision. A confirmed violation may result in removal of the Human-made pledge mark, profile or account suspension, or permanent removal from Yubikiri. The pledge and reporting process do not guarantee perfect detection, prove authorship, or create automatic bans.
We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
7. Content and licenses
You retain ownership of art and materials you upload. You grant Yubikiri a limited license to host, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing WIPs in a commission room and watermarked previews to authorized room participants). You represent that you have the rights needed to upload and share that content with room participants. Copyright complaints are handled under our Copyright & IP page.
8. Public track records
Completed commissions may contribute to public artist statistics and reviews. Do not use the Service if you do not want those outcomes for completed work. Delivery fingerprints and per-file records document records created through the Service; they do not prove authorship, identity, authenticity, or whether art was made with AI.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, that every dispute will resolve in your favor, or that other users will fulfill their promises. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Yubikiri is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from commissions between users.
The rest of this section states the limit of every record, mark, and export the Service produces. Pages across the product link here instead of repeating it.
Records, Keepsakes, fingerprints, and making-of pages
- A match means the file or record passed through a Yubikiri room. It does not prove authorship, identity, or authenticity. It does not detect AI or generative-AI assistance. It is not C2PA and not forensic evidence.
- A non-match does not mean a work is fake. Resized, re-exported, or re-compressed copies produce different fingerprints.
- Keepsakes, per-file records, Keepsake Seals, room archives, making-of pages, and the public log document process. They are not buyer protection, and a record does not settle a dispute.
- Keepsake Seals describe one finished work. Artist marks describe an artist. Neither is a rating or a quality guarantee.
Money
- Clients pay into the artist's own Stripe account. Yubikiri never takes custody of commission funds and keeps no balance. Section 5 governs payments and refunds.
- Yubikiri is not a party to the commission contract, and not a marketplace that buys or resells art. Rooms start from an artist's invite. Artist pages show starting prices without a checkout.
- Stripe charges its own processing fee on payments it handles.
- Income exports and the year-end summary list what Yubikiri recorded as paid. They are a bookkeeping aid, not tax advice.
Terms tools
- Line Check reads the text you paste and names the topics it did not find. A missing topic is not proof that your terms are absent or inadequate. Line Check cannot judge whether wording is complete, valid, or enforceable, and it is not a contract generator. Starter wording is a prompt, not legal advice.
- Frozen terms snapshots and activity logs are tools for clarity. They do not replace legal advice or local consumer protections, and Yubikiri does not decide refund entitlement.
Marks, track records, and client history
- The Human-made pledge mark records a pledge. It is enforced through reports and human review, not automated detection, and it does not guarantee that every violation is found.
- Yubi Verified, Founding, and Builder marks record a computed track record or a staff grant. No mark is identity verification, proof of authorship or human-made status, a quality ranking, or payment protection. Marks are not for sale.
- Public statistics and the embeddable track-record badge are computed from completed rooms. They are not a payment guarantee.
- Client history shown on an invite request comes from completed Yubikiri rooms only. It is not a credit score and not a rating. There is no public client page, and clients can turn the signals off.
- An invite request, a scheduled opening, and a queue placement are not a booking or a guaranteed slot. The artist accepts or declines every request.
- Collaborator and launch-pipeline rooms coordinate workflow between artists. They are not marketplace hiring.
The API
The artist-scoped JSON API and outbound webhooks are beta. Endpoints may change, and there is no uptime or real-time guarantee.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the date above.
