Sealed process records

Transaction provenance for artists and clients. No technical background needed.

Provenance tools prove who exported a file. A Keepsake from a finished commission room proves what two people agreed to, approved, and paid for — and when. Sealed from solo work, it has one party: the steps you recorded and the final files you sealed, with nothing countersigned. Short form: not proof of who made it.

A Keepsake is a sealed process record. It can come from a finished commission room, or from solo recording for personal or portfolio work with no client room. It is not AI detection, authorship proof, C2PA, or buyer protection.

The names you need

Two words carry the whole system. Keepsake is the record. Check is what anyone does to it. A third name appears only when you share a finished file.

Anyone can check a Keepsake for free. No account is required.

What a Keepsake covers

A Keepsake records the process: the stages, the timestamps, and the files. Everything it does and does not show is listed under Disclaimers.

Path 1 — a client commission

  1. Finish the commission in the shared room (finals delivered).
  2. When the room is complete, Yubikiri seals a Keepsake automatically.
  3. You'll see a green Keepsake sealed note in the room (and on a public making-of page, if one is published).

You do not need to “mint” anything yourself. Completing the room is enough.

Path 2 — personal or portfolio work

Record solo when there is no client room. This works for personal art, portfolio pieces, adopts, or YCHs. Nobody countersigns it, so the record is yours alone.

  1. Open Dashboard → Solo work and start a piece.
  2. Upload WIP images as you work. Public previews are watermarked.
  3. Upload a final file, then tap Seal Keepsake.
  4. Share the public process page (/ks/…) or the free check link.

Sealing is free, with no monthly limit. Checking a Keepsake stays free. Solo recording records process.

How to check a Keepsake (online)

  1. Open Check a Keepsake or delivery.
  2. Paste the Keepsake id (it looks like yk_ks_…) or open a link that already includes it.
  3. Read the results: does the sealed record check out, do the final files match, and has it reached the daily public list?

A successful check means the sealed record still matches what passed through Yubikiri.

How to check without the website

If you downloaded the room archive ZIP, you can check the Keepsake files on your own computer:

  1. Open the free offline checker page (works in your browser; files stay on your device).
  2. Drop the ZIP, or the keepsake folder from inside it.
  3. Read the same kind of yes/no results as the online page.

Developers who want the full open spec can read Keepsake protocol. Most users never need that page.

Show a Keepsake on your portfolio

Each final can get a small image for Carrd, a portfolio, or a listing. Clicking it opens the free page where anyone can check that file against its Keepsake.

  1. Open a completed commission room, a sealed solo piece, or a making-of page.
  2. Find the final file and its portfolio image.
  3. Tap Copy Keepsake Seal and paste it into your site.

That image describes one finished work. Artist marks describe the artist. Keeping those two systems separate makes their meaning clear.

Evidence export ZIP

People in the room can download a ZIP that keeps the agreement, activity history, delivered files, file ids, and Keepsake files together. Use it when you need a portable paper trail. Evidence is not a chargeback guarantee.

Keepsake records — your portable download

From the dashboard, download Your Keepsake records: a portable list of commission Keepsakes you completed as an artist or client, with free check links. It does not include briefs, prices, or email addresses.

One file vs the full Keepsake

Both are free to check. The product name is Keepsake; check is the verb.
